****We now have a Farm in Bowling Green, KY!!
Woodland Trails Farm is a family farm located in the wooded hills of beautiful Bergholz, Ohio. We are a state certified Tree Farm, and raise Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats. We started our herd with two does that we purchased from Cloven Trail Farm in 2010. We instantly fell in love with the Nigerian breed. Shortly after bringing the girls home, we added two more does & a Buck. What started as a hobby grew into a minature Dairy Farm. We recently added some super bloodlines to the herd (Rosashrn Farm, Little Tots Estate, Old Mountain Farm, Castle Rock, & Agape's Prize Nigerians).
Our herd is registered through the American Dairy Goat Association and the Nigerian Dwarf Goat Association.
Nigerian Dwarf goats are a miniature dairy breed of West African ancesstry. These goats are small in stature, easy to raise, and have a very gentle disposition. This makes them a good choice for 4-H, pets, showing, companionship, or a family milker. They come in a wide range of colors, and some can have blue eyes. Nigerian goats give a suprising quanity of milk for their size, 2.5 pounds on average each day. The butterfat content in Nigerian goat milk is higher than milk from a full size dairy goat, making excellent cheese and soap.
September 2018 our whole herd tested NEGATIVE for:
Johne's Disease
Caseous Lymphadenitis (CL)
Caprine Arthritis and Encephalitis (CAE)
Woodland Trails Farm tests all animals in the herd annually and has tested negative for CAE since the creation of our little herd in 2010.
In 2014 we also started testing for Johne's and Caseous Lymphadenitis(CL).
We provided a copy of all test reults to everyone that purchases goats from our farm.
Woodland Trails Farm's vision is to raise healthy goats for dairy production, show,
4-H & companionship.
